Question

Hello everyone , I have this noise coming from my car 99 turbo.
I hear it when idling , it sounds like a metallic tapping , seems to be coming from the left side down near the bottom .
There are no heat shields left so it isn't them (I have been through all that). The noise comes and goes , it does not sound serious.
ANY IDEAS !??!

Wink

I had a similar problem: I thought it was coming from the left of the car, like a tappet sound! But it wasnt it was coming from the right.

It was the boost switch which is the cylinder looking object attached to the inner wing of the car on the drivers side (nothing major)

Ive just left mine and bared it. It goes off when you put about 2000 rpms on and hold your foot there!!

Hope it helps

Do the injectors not click (tap) aswell. I would suspect Tappets (camshaft followers) too and I be they'll set u back a fortune. They must be around £10 each, with 4 cams thats gonna be a hundred billion squid. Which is a lot squid, I might add.
