Wierd noise in hot weather under heavy load

I have a UK MY98 Turbo. In hot weather when it is heavily loaded (been to IKEA, or 2 sets of scuba dive gear), I get a sort of squealing sound (not too loud) coming from the rear... must be something to do with the brakes, as when I lift the hand brake it eases off.
Any ideas?
