Question

On my 95 WRX RA there is 2 holes on the dipstick, one has L for lower the other one F for full, however a little above the F there is a groove in the dipstick. Ehat does this groove represent? when I bought the car the oil was topped right up to this groove, is this correct? Cheers. King RA.

The markers represent full and low,but saying that they dont seem to read right.I have just done an oil and filter change on mine and put the recomended 4.5 litres in and it always reads as it did before, slightly under the full notch. The book says that when cold you should not add any oil above the upper level(which is the "f" mark)Then after driving when warm it will read between that and the top notch due to expansion.
