Sam, the Subaru three port is not suitable for use with high frequency modulation, if you use it you need to limit it to 15Hz max.

Does the frequency apply to 3 port, and 2 port. I am also using another management system on another car, and Im using a subaru solenoid to control the boost, altho having limited success in getting it to work. Is 15 hz the freq I should be aiming for with both type of solenoids??

Sam,

I doubt it would be the solenoid that blows

Sam it won't blow ... just be careful as it becomes saturated magnetically and then sticks causing loss of boost control ... upwards !!

****, you can't keep a secret in here anymore

spoke to gems and they have confirmed that the software can drive the subaru 3 port with no problems. actuallyt the software is the same for the evo and the scoob.

apparently anything with more than 8ohms or something will be fine.

Its not a question of impedance ... they are missing the point here, anyway keep an eye on your boost, if it start's to get wayward then it will be down to the solenoid.
