Question

About three weeks ago, I started getting vibration/wobble on the steering from about 75mph onwards, getting progressively worse.
It felt like a wheel/tyre balance issue so I thought I'd wait till my new tyres were put on the following week. The new tyres/wheels were balanced but the problem is still there.

I don't remember kerbing the car or anything else like that. It's at the dealer at the moment but I wondered if anyone could suggest possible causes so I can make sure the dealer checked them?

TIA

Hadi

Had this problem on one of my old cars (not a Scoob), turned out to be a problem with a drive shaft. Felt like badly balanced tyres, but only kicked in at 60mph plus.

I think it was one of the bearings that was knackered.

You don't say if you had a full set of four tyres?
I had this prob on a Xantia, and it traced to be the rear tyres gone oval.

I have exactly the same problem on my MY99. Vibration/wobbling appears at 70mph+. I have balanced my front two wheels recently but not the backs.

Jon.

Thumbs up

Thanks chaps

I've got the car back from the dealer and they took all four wheels off and rebalanced them.

Hey presto problem solved!!

It must have been a coincidence that a weight came off when running the old tyres and then the fitter misbalanced when putting the new tyres on.

Cheers
