Is the new MAF sensor a hot wire rather than film type?

John, the new one that I fitted was defo the same 'type' as the old one.
By that I mean that to look at the 'bit' it was a film of metal or a foil if I was to describe it properly.
ps, know anything about '93 wrx gearing?
