......piece of pi55

just done it in less than 3 hrs! (MY98)

started half way through eastenders and ive just finished 10 minutes ago, including cutting the heat shield to fit.

BTW i did it on my own and im not a mechanic, im a chippy

what suprised me the most is how easily the 5 nuts/bolts came off.

spooling

Wow, I took a very long time to fit mine on. The previous owners managed to round off half the bolts on mine..

Red face

you may think you are going ok untill you come across an overtorqued bolt where the thread has gone, or you shear one of the bolts.

Practos,

but does she look like a Russian shotputter

Shearing the bolts is sometimes the fastest way to do it - but make sure you have some spare bolts! It's how the Scooby mechanics do it - big bar - whap, whap, whap and Bobs your Auntie.

Question

Chris

What do you think of the drive with the decat dp on?
I'm seriously thinking about putting my cat back on as my 1st MOT is due in November

What always puzzles me is, look at BHP and torque on an RB5 with PPP, thats got a cat dp on and the published times are quick 0-60 and 0-100 what's the big deal with changing the dp to a decat? Sure the turbo might spin up quicker, but does it actually make the car any quicker???

john
going to take it for a proper run tomorrow, see what all the fuss is about, ill let you know how it goes.

fair point about the RB5 PPP though, got me thinking now, typical though after ive just put the bloody thing on besides PPP RB5 doesnt flame

i see you're after a dawes again, thought you were getting tek2?

BTW do you and MD fancy coming up to santa pod on the 4th aug, its a run wot yer brung thing. i went to the last one (spectated) and now ive got to get on and see what the scoob will do. its not like a trackday thing, not so much tyrewear/brakewear etc etc, if you're interested drop me a mail and ill provide details, even if its just to spectate and gawp at the skylines, etc.
