Default 2011 GR STI Steering Rack options

Hi Gents, I need a new rack not sure if the stanndard rack is 15:1 and to fit a spec c 13:1 or VAB steering rack, any advice here and does any one have the relevant parts numbers?

Cheers

Question assume all these racks fit without mods, do you know the difference between the JDM rack 34110FG010 and the S206 rack 34110FG040? and what ratios are theybelieve the JDM is 13:1 and the standard UK rack is 15:1 or my understaning not correct? cheers

The S206 didn't get quick rack steering due to the suspension setup it runs (doesn't need it).

Vehicle Dynamics Control
tracktion and stabilization control , in theory most upgraded suspension parts could take an effort on oem VDC setup ,doubt car will notice it with quicker rack

Look up US forums, that's where I first read about it as I wanted to do it with mine for exact same reasons then was put off by fact you have to drive with vdc off if you want the car to not do anything random....its all down to the steering angle which is used in the vdc calcs, the angles are then wrong with the new rack.

there is a fella local to me done it with his and has issues, obviously the issues are only present when you force the vdc into action...but for me I wasn't for doing it.

The main issue with it is that the traction control kicks on during tight turns without the fix, however in my experience you have to be taking very tight hairpin turns to get it to kick on at all (Like the S at Spelga). For normal/spirited driving its fine. When driving harder, if you turn traction control off then the issue is gone completely- id usually turn off tc anyway when going hard tbh

Check it's not the small O ring on the pump that is leaking; a cheap fix as pumps are v dear

Not sure if UK is the same but usually the first one to change in the JDM model is 34439FG000, ICP list seal kits for earlier models also so might be worth asking them.
A new crush washer is also good practice and the bolt torqued correctly.

Is it true that the VAB STi has 11.1 ratio? Is that JDM only or also U.K?
