Default Coolant bypass

Hi all, just after a little advice. Im in the process of replacing the coolant bypass pipe on my uk2000 impreza "1999" ive got stuck after disconnecting the rubber pipes going to the metal section that iam replacing, can anyone confirm if the inlet manifold needs to be removed to get the metal coolant pipe out? It runs up past the timing cover and over the block to the rear of the engine under the inlet manifold.

Any help is greatly appreciated. KR Paul

You'll probably need to remove more than just the manifold to get them in.

Thanks for the reply Don, what extra bits are you thinking? Seems to just sit under the manifold, i expect to remove the coolant header tank and fuel pipes etc but these i believe are part of the process to get the inlet manifold out? Many thanks Paul
