Default JDM subaru 2.0 wrx sti hawk boost issue

Hello! Today i picked up my first Subaru, a JDM 2.0 wrx sti twin scroll. The car doesn't take off until 3.5k rpm but if you let off before there is a noticeable blow off. Is this normal? I was under the impression that a twin scroll turbo shouldn't be laggy? The engine is completely stock, any help and advice would be greatly appreciated! TIA

Sounds about right. Im guessing it was someone pushing you towards a twin scroll that claimed they wernt laggy (although 3.5k isnt bad in the sense of lag)

As an owner of a few twin scroll cars they defo aint laggy, something sounds not right. check the 90deg bend boost pipe from the turbo to intercooler, sometimes they don't sit on right or could be burst.
