Default New downpipe and heat shield

Guys

installed a cobra sports downpipe to my 2004 sti type uk.

firstly the 3 nuts were tightened on the bell mouth completely followed by the two top nuts and bolts with a new gasket.

visually it looks like you can see the gasket at the top. Don’t think it leaking!

I know all bolts nuts should be tightened in sequence but I couldn’t do this as the turbo heat shield interferes with the bottom bolts.

Is this how others do it nuts first then 2 bolts and nuts last.

second do I just cut the heat shield or do I buy another one. Please recommend??
