Question Which injectors where put in the WR1 from factory?

Hi guys,

I've got a short question regarding injectors. Which injectors where put in the WR1 from factory?

I don't know if the previous owner put the right ones in and I want to replace them with new ones since my WR1 has already 100k miles done.

Greets

Has the car been modded much?
Has it been remapped?
If its not modded much then I cant see why anyone would change the Injectors from standard,

they have the std new-age 2.0STi "pink" injectors as they were used on the car the WR1 is based on........

unless you buy genuine from a guaranteed source then you will potentially be fitting something far less capable as there are hundreds of spoofs about
far better IMO to simply get them cleaned and flow tested which is highly cost effective and reliable

The car is not mapped imo. Apart from an aftermarket exhaust, no engine related parts have been changed, with the exception of a secondary cat which is not part of the WR1 afaik.
I would have gone for these here:

Why would someone change the injectors if the car is not modded

When I bought the car it has done already 80.000 miles, so maybe someone did already replace them.

Hmm, I don't think those injectors look genuine personally.

Look at the pintle cap ("spray end") for example - what's going on with the black plastic cover? No genuine injector from a subaru that I have seen has had that thing. Also, around the electrical connection there's some black rubber band - also never seen those on an impreza?

This is a photo of a genuine injector spray holes that I personally took a couple of months ago:

Ignore the dirt for now, and notice how the outside holes in the pattern are oval looking because they point out sideways. I can't see a similar pattern in the eBay photo (although to be fair the photo is blurry anyway, but not so blurry that you shouldn't be able to pick up on the ovality IMO).

Thus far, I'm erring on the side of copies. They might work well, but I'd stick with stockcar's advice and get the ones you already have (presumably) cleaned.

Okay mates you convinced me, I'll get mine cleaned. Any suggestions where to get them cleaned? I live in Germany so does it make sense to get them shipped to an specialist in UK?

I have used Injector Clean at Devizes Wiltshire. They are on ebay, and do a proper job ( filter baskets, seals, before and after performance record) I was surprised at the improvement on my old wrx wagon at 80000 miles when I had them cleaned; but really the spray pattern and flow is as important as the spark plug condition.

A brand new Subaru injector is about £140 for one, so anything much less than that won't be genuine.
