Impreza RS running rough from a cold start?
Hi guys,
So I recently got hold of a 2010 Impreza RS (2L boxer diesel). It's done about 195,000 km, around 120,000 miles.
The issue I'm having is that when I start her up (starts fine) initially the engine runs very tough, until it gets up to temp (ie until the temp light goes off on the dash). She also has trouble pulling until she's heated up but maybe this is a general diesel thing?
There was a intermittent sound like something knocking on something or maybe the engine backfiring and the engine mount was sort of jerking in time with it.
The potentials I have in mind could be a slack belt? Idle control valve needing a change?
Fuel injection issues?
I've always driven petrols and don't know a lot about diesels so I'm a bit at sea here and any help would be great!
