Default td04 from a hawk,

Just a quick question, is it right the hawkeye td04 is some what ever so just slightly different to the older bug/blob modle Td04 and will just about reach 300hp on the right mods. or are they identical to the ealier Td04s found on imprezas and Forester?

cheers.

Nope. They are all the same. They mostly make 285bhp max unless you send them away for a billet wheel conversion and then with supporting mods they can reach 300bhp. Just.

Cheers ive been fitting bits to run 330hp and found my turbo seals are leaking on the Vf35 so im now searching for another turbo to get the thing mapped and on the road, so was just going to slap a td04 on with a map and use for summer. but for some reason i thought i had read that the hawk td04 was ever so slighlty different and people where getting 10/15hp more from them.
guess i read that wrong,

You can get your VF35 rebuilt cheap enough. Contact Matt @ Turbo Dynamics or Craig Bellworthy at Central Turbos. Most of these guys can turn it around super fast as well.

Also some JDM WRX cars came with a td04hL (my friend has one).

Off topic, but I think the td04HL with a 19t compressor might be a good fit

They have the wrong turbine housing fitment, though.

I think it should be possible to modify the td04L turbine housing using a lathe to take the HL wheel, though (iirc it's about 2mm bigger inducer)
