£600 cheaper on a '07 hawk compared to an '06 hawk???
I'm 21 years old and have been looking at quotes for a hawkeye because I'm planning on buying one in the first few months of the new year.
I've been onto the Admiral Car Insurance and they quoted me £1680 with both my parents as named drivers which I thought was pretty damn good for a 2006 Hawkeye Impreza STI.
I then changed the car to a 2007 Hawkeye Impreza STI and it brought the quote down to £1024 per year...
LOL? That's a damn good quote if it's correct considering I'm 21 where some people aged 18-20 are paying over £2000 per year on tiny vehicles..
Edit: Just changed the vehicle to a peugeot 206 and it's quoting £518 ...I really don't understand how insurance companies work out their quotes....

Well anyway Ive saved the quote reference and if I can get insured fully comp for that price of about 1 grand, Im gonna be a happy chappy!
I was looking on 'go compare' and the cheapest quotes were all around £4-5k. But I find that 'go compare' sucks with actually comparing and searching for quotes.
And yes PaulJC, however a 2006/2007 hawk are the same road tax of about £420 or something? The only hawk which is the cheaper tax of about £200 is the '55 plate, correct me if Im wrong.

My wife (26) has just got insurance with me on a Mercedes B200 Turbo for £1100 and she passed her test 2months ago! With only 60bhp less, living in a Bradford postcode and no driving experience that seems really good as well. Maybe this is the time of year to get a quote...before the winter sets in and cars start sliding around into each other.
