Erratic boosting Turbo failure?
Car 2008 STI Hatch
After some hard driving my hatch is having trouble boosting, it feels laboured, stuttery or as if it’s bogging down. It’s then jumpy through the revs as it try’s to achieve full boost. I have noticed the oil lines to the turbo are wet so slightly weeping, is this the first signs of turbo failure? Could a boost leak b possible? I was thinking of buying a cheap boost gauge to just see what it’s reading? I’ve put a code reader on it but no faults showing.

check all the vacuum pipes to the boost solenoid, turbo actuator and manifold are all in place and not cracked, broken etc first. Then check the boost pipes themselves to the turbo and intercooler for cracks or failing joints.
It's worth getting a boost gauge to check it that's for sure.
If it's erratically boosting it probably isn't turbo failure, more an issue with the boost control system.

Ok thanks, I will note there hasn’t been any particular smoke from the exhaust. I just though if it was a boost leak it would get progressively worse as the car gets hot but this just seems to be consistently erratic if that isn’t a contradiction as long as you’re driving. I will whip them all off tho and check.
would there be any fault codes if the boost pressure was an issue? I only used an odb reader I have a more complete laptop code reader which I haven’t tried yet.
