i use my uk turbo wagon for a daily hack, has been trouble free untill yesterday afternoon.. drove to work fine, started it up in the afternoon to find the idle fluttering between 1000-2000 revs as if hunting for idle... then the check enging light came on, had no choice but to drive it and it drives/boost's and runs fine other than the idle..

anyone else had this trouble? if so how did you cure it?? im not by any means a mechanic but cant afford to take it to a garage...

try cleaning idle control valve.

 

i had that, cleaned idle control valve and it cured it

 

sounds daft but where will i find it? would carb cleaner be ok to clean it with?

any pictures of the valve??
