Track car engine build options
Looking at building a bigger power engine for my track car. I have a spare engine witch I was going to put a stroker kit in but now looking at a 2.5 bottom end, seen a few threads on people mixing rods and piston to make it 2.3??????. What’s the best route to go down. Will be building the engine myself so just need to buy parts! Any info would be appreciated

I looked into this before going 2.1, but as I already had a closed deck 2.0 block and no plans to go for silly power I stuck with it.
I believe Banny ran a 2.35 block, constructed from a closed deck converted 2.5 block, 2.0 crank, stroker rods and pistons. It a lot cheaper way to go vs buying an EJ22 block.
All depends what power and rpm you want to achieve really. My mate runs a closed deck converted 2.5 with avcs heads and its very punchy and responsive on track, even with just a VF34 turbo strapped on.
