Default Carbon canister removal classic

I really have no space left to keep the carbon canister so it's been removed and I don't think my Link G4+ even controls the purge valve without modification. What I'm wondering is what the lower hose from the canister is used for, is it some kind of fresh air vent? The hose/piping runs under the car for a bit and then goes inside the car around the gearbox crossmember. Should it be plugged or what?

Thanks

Yes I suspected it was the case But I'm still curious where it runs as it goes inside the car, I take it goes all the way back to the tank?

How bad is the fuel smell with the canister removed? It can make "MOT" difficult for me as it really isn't allowed to remove it so any fuel smell would make it obvious. I was thinking of adding one of these valves to the fuel tank vent line https://www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk/p...push-on-m-tpv8

Is the car a GC8 if it is it doesn't go into the car it splits and goes to two wee plastic blocks which just vent to atmosphere. If you join/loop the two pipes at the top of canister there'll be nothing in it anyway. Its one of those that goes to the tank.

Ah I see, didn't figure those blocks were vents, I thought the pipe went inside through them Yes it's a V5 STI Type R.

I have removed everything else so the only thing left is just the vent pipe by the firewall next to the fuel pipes.

On one of the pipes at the carbon canister is a one way valve make sure you get it the right way round and you can use it on the vent to the tank. You don't have to worry about the loop then.
