2010 Impreza power steering
Hi all I am new here. I hope you all can help. My wife has a Impreza sedan. In the last year and a half I have replaced the power steering pump 3 times. All were purchased at different parts stores. When the first one went there were bubbles in the fluid and fluid on the manifold. When I installed the first one every went great. No fluid. It ran fine. Six months later same thing. Fluid on manifold and bubbles. Again I replaced it. Again everything was fine for about another six months. Again fluid on the manifold and bubbles. I can’t find a leak anywhere on the pump. Can the rack be causing this?

If it's the same as my legacy there are a couple of other cheap things to check.
First, the hose clips subaru use are terrible. Over time they loose tension and let air into the system, so replace them with jubilee clips.
Second, the hose connects the reservoir to the pump has a o ring in at the pump end. This can let in air, so would be worth replacing.
