Default 2010 STI HATCH POWER STEERING

Hi all have recently noticed an intermittent steering issue, have noticed the steering juddering and a rattling noise from the engine bay when the wheel is turned to its extreme in both directions but only noticeable when the car is ticking over and stationary...any thoughts would be great.

Check the tension on the belt first. The other thing to do before a garage tells you that you need a new pump is to replace the o ring at the top of it; this perishes and allows air in the pump, causing judder. It costs pennies

turned into a side road and it felt as though the car understeered...not as in a slide, but more as though the steering wheel input was different how much the car actually turned...could this happen?
