Default 2006 2.0 sti rough running

hi i'm having issues with my sti, starts fine but soon after, the idle hunts or stays at 2k rpm. then the engine management light comes on, and starts to run on 3 cylinders, until you put your foot down and then pulls like nothing is wrong. any ideas on what this could be as i cant read the ecu as its looked with a ecutek map, which is extremely helpful
many thanks mike

Hi Mike. I had very similar symptoms on my 05 STi 2L. Hunting and high rpm idle. Not noticeable when driving until I dipped the clutch to change gear. Might be worth removing and cleaning the IACV idle air control valve. Sorted it for me.

Located right on top on the throttle body, 2 small screws to undo. Clean and wash it out with swabs and petrol. You will need a new rubber gasket (£5) to refit. Code I had was P0519. No issues now over 2 years on.

Cheers, Sam.

Quite possibly a late registered wide track blob? I’ve seen quite a few on a 06 plate over the years actually, randomly most of them seem to be silver?!

Was wondering, - if JDM, ECU may not be capable of being read with OBD just SSM.
