Default rattle/vibration between 1500-2000rpm

its done this ever since i got it 2 years ago, as far as i can tell it does it in every gear, its coming from the engine bay and it sounds pretty central, its like pipes rattling, when i had the engine out to do the clutch i had a look and couldnt see what it would be, ive checked along the bulkhead and everything seems secure.

any ideas?

I have had these symptoms on my 97 STI, first time it was the uppipe heatshield coming away from the uppipe and rattling about. The second time it was my gearbox oil dipstick popping out slightly once the car had been running for a short period of time and that would tap against the firewall - worth checking those two out as theyre easy fixes.

Thanks, I removed the up pipe heat shield as there was little keeping it on, I did think about the dip stick so I'll try and secure it and see why happens
