Hi all....have recently bought a 2016 STI and are having problems connecting MIRRORLINK to my phone,there seems to have been an availability of the version 1.1 firmware update files at some point but don't seem to be able to get them now does anyone know where I can get these files so I can try an update
any help would be appreciated.

The honest answer is simply don't bother with Mirrorlink - it doesn't work properly.

Have heard of folks doing the update and MIRRORLINK has worked after....just wondered if anyone has done this and had results

What do you actually mean by that?? Would probably mean a visit to a Subaru dealer for updating

The update files were as it seems available from download....maybe not in the u.k but elsewhere judging from the vids on YouTube,they give a link to Subaru.net which no longer exists

But without the firmware not possible.

Have you actually enquired whether there is an update for your HU ??.

To be honest having read many posts on various Subaru forums, even with v1.1, it's very hit and miss whether it works or not.

yes Don your quite right....update 1.1 did used to be available for download but for whatever reason is no longer,guess I'm gonna have to go thru dealer for this one instead of a self fix
