Thanks for the links guys, I will make good use of these in the future, I have been using www.jpcarparts.com up until now which also has great diagrams and subaru part numbers.Unfortunately genuine subaru parts are priced thru the roof here in Saskatchewan, Canada. This fact inevitably leads us to places like Napa auto parts, rockauto, etc trying to get reasonably priced parts. Of course the forester didnt exist in Canada till 98 and never came with a ej20g motor in the canadian market at all makes it quite challenging to get parts. The parts guys here in town give me the stink eye as soon as I mention right hand drive or JDM in my vehicle description.
So I thought many of you have already been down this road and could share with me any compiled information on common parts for the 97 st/b forester that are to be found here in Canada or the U.S. Parts orther that oem subaru. I can in turn share a few of the part brands and numbers I have discovered thus far as well. So far we have replaced the clutch, put in a block heater, general tune up parts, fuel pump( in progress), still to come as soon as I can find the part numbers.....ignition wire set. Any replies is greatly appreciated

Assuming you have the fuel pump part number from jp-carparts.com - 42021AC040 -(also used in early imprezas so a walbro would be do able) and for some reason US models seem to only list the complete pump assembly and not the pump.
Forester pump assembly - 42021FC010

and the individual ht lead part numbers - http://www.jp-carparts.com/subaru/pa...001&fig_id=090

https://www.buycarparts.co.uk/blue-print/7699778

A good place to look for info on what does and doesn't fit a T/tB would be the European forum on Subaruforester.org - http://www.subaruforester.org/vbulletin/f75/
much of the info will be historic as a lot of the members who have owned and modified S/tB and T/tB models have moved on.
