Default i have £1200 to spend on my Blob WRX

had a bit of a windfall and decided to blow it all on my 03 WRX

the car has a pedders suspension and brembos front and rear so it'll be the power side in looking to work on

i can do most jobs myself, engine wise all i have is a sport cat, 3inch exhaust and a k&n panel filter

thinking i might got for 550cc injectors, upipe (sti or harvey?) and obviously a remap, figure i'd still have 4-500 left, what if anything could i get.......bigger turbo?

If you think along the lines of a PPP. Mainly intake, exhaust, fuel pump & remap. You may only be missing the fuel pump. If I'm honest I don't know what the standard WRX pump is good for. If it is old it may be getting tired and always worth considering. It is future proofing, do injectors and turbo then remap get good results. Pump gives up and you risk some form of damage. For less than £100 it gives you peace of mind and some head room. You would still get a second hand low mileage better turbo with the change I reckon. Just my thoughts. Worth considering.

I have no experience of them at all so can only mention but Ace turbos which are Essex way (I think) do a reconditioned VF37 for £199 which comes with a 12 month warranty. Maybe someone else who knows of them can comment further? Might be worth another question about them on general technical. But you will easily get a new fuel pump and reconditioned Turbo with your remaining budget. May even be able to squeeze in a 3 port boost solenoid as well. 👍🏼

You might want to think about suspension bits (ARBs, bushes etc) as well.

Used VF35 should be £300-400, so get it all done at the same time.

I looked them up yesterday, I think that £199 price is for the labour/parts to rebuild/recondition a turbo you give them, not to sell you one. Otherwise they are undercutting the used market by a couple of hundred quid and everyone would be buying from them!

Turbo Technics, Brackmills, Northampton, 01604 705050, do a range of reconditioned turbo's on an exchange basis, so might be worth an ask. They have a website and catalogue.

Yeah I did not mention I believed it was on an exchange basis or other! That said if a beaten up second hand turbo could be sourced cheap enough it could still be an option. As I said don't really know the score with them. Sorry for any confusion.
