Sorry I'm new.
Good evening ladies and gents, my name's alastair and I'm new too Subarus and turbos and mad power. So please forgive me if I'm being silly.
So, I bought myself a 2008 Sti hatchback last week with the following mods;
2.3 destroker kit
Forged rods and piston
Front mount
Td06 turbo
Running maf less
I was told when I bought it that it was running 375-400 bhp
The only problem is, my mate in a stock 2005 wrx running 220 bhp can keep up, fairly easy.
I understand that he has a smaller turbo = less lag all that pony. I think mine is on full boost by 4500 revs. Fairly laggy right, but surely not that much lag to suffer a 180 bhp difference?
Can someone point me in the right direction

if it's mafless it could have switchable maps, as in high and low boost. You may have it on the low boost map.
Does it have a boost gauge?

How would I know if it has switchable maps?

Try this,
ignition on
Foot flat to floor
Press the heated rear window button (can't remember if you have to press it twice)
The engine management light sometimes blinks to signal map change.
not always depends who mapped it and what software.
My car is mafless, mapped with carberry ROM and has a toggle switch to change the maps and activate antilag, but as I say, different softwares have different methods.

It's just a swizz really. Full blown antilag will reduce the life of components massively and a standard car doesn't have the hardware to support it.
Its novelty wears off pretty quickly, it just pops n bangs and shoots flames when you lift off.

My ECU is standard. Antilag is a feature of carberry ROM as well as flat foot shifting, rotational idle and launch control.

I'm just looking through the paper work and the turbo is a td06 billet 25g-8 (3") seems like a rather large compresser wheel to me?
