Default Issues fitting Classic exhaust to Newage. Help!

I'm aware the rear hanger is different, but the main problem is the downpipe I've got doesn't have the bracket on it that would normally bolt to the bracket on the underside of the car.

As a result there's loads of strain on the centre exhaust hanger. I'm in two minds about whether to just get another hanger, one of the extended poly type ones, or just go and get a bracket welded on. Problem is, it will have to be driven for a few days before that can be done.

Anything to worry about?

Should be ok until you get bracket welded,

My D/P bracket snapped recently and the whole thing never fell off or that,

I would have gave it some beans too until i noticed,

Would fix it sooner rather than later tho

Infact mine was like that when i ran it on the quarter recently...... Didn't die

More worried about whacking it on speed bumps than anything else but I guess it will just lift on contact and should be an issue if crawling.

How come you've fitted a classic system to a newage? I think that will hit some speed bumps, i fitted a full system, that said would fit both, but you could tell it was meant for a newage, it was my first exhaust, and was an ebay cheapy, wasn't a good fit.

Why not support it temporarily with something like a wire coat hanger (cut to suit) from the gearbox cross member...........

Two reasons, people said it would fit fine and 3" track friendly exhausts are hard to find

I think it will catch bumps too but it should lift on contact. I hope to be get a bracket welded on within a couple of weeks though and the car doesn't have to be used until then other than a track outing.

Wasn't sure something like that would work to be honest?

For the classic, should be 10 a penny. Bought a few 3" systems for a classic. Mines quiet and didn't cost loads, bought off here I think.
