Default Tips and advice on fitting engine mounts.

I'm fitting group N engine and gearbox mounts next week,I've read it's not the easiest of jobs,so wondering if there are any tips&tricks to make the job a bit easier?
I'll be removing the exhaust manifold as I need to do some work on that anyway, don't think this helps with fitting the mounts anyway?

Cheers
Rich

Ok thanks,it's one of those jobs I'm not looking forward to doing but at the same time is well worth doing.
It's just a case of removing pitch mount, removing the nuts, jacking engine and removing bolts I guess.
I'll just crack on and stop moaning

Nice one,I'll make sure I take note of which way round they came out.
I should of replaced them when the engine was out tbh but things were tight and I was desperate to get the car back on the road.

Engine still sounds and pulls sweet

A few things to fit first and this annoying exhaust manifold to sort out!
Then I'll have some time to spend on the map,I'll fit the 3 port bcs and start upping the boost

Not flush, still shaped like a banana!
I need to spend more time on it or get it to an engineer to sort it
Or get a new flange welded.

Well that was fun!!!

Started on the LH side and after an hour I'd managed to round off the back bolt a little,no room to swing a spanner is a fecking understatement! Just as I was about to throw the towel in and wheel the engine crane out I gave it one more go,got the spanner on then the sweetest sound you ever want to hear....'crack' Ohh the joy lol.
That was the hard part over,,,so I thought!!!
Move on to the RH side....even less feckin room!!!

Anyway cut a long story short haha and I'll stop moaning...

Result

Tomorrow is the gearbox mount,I'm guessing I just support the box then remove the cradle, replace mount, done?

Then it's coilover time,,looks like the rain's on it's way so should add to the fun.

A good read I have a set of uprated mounts to fit to my bugeye, when you jacked up the engine did you have to disconnect anything other than the engine mount?

Well I couldn't of booked a worse week off work! Dam you British weather!!!

Anyway all mounts now fitted, will take for a test drive tomorrow but I can imagine everything will feel a lot tighter, the old mounts were in a bit of a state, especially the gearbox mount:

Now it's time to fit the coilovers
