Bloody broken bolt !
Fitting a white line Rear ARB so removing the original ARB mounts, the drivers side bolt decides to snap its head off, grrr, will get a pic or 2 up later.
The other mount bolt is directly under the filler neck, great design there subaru ! so looks like i need to remove the filler neck also just to remove the other mount bolt, i can see those bolts shearing off as well from inside the arch behind the fuel filler flap etc !
a 30 minute job they said ha ha !!!!
Now my options, do i try and drill the thread out, do i try and weld onto the tiny nibble that is protruding , do i drill the hole bigger and weld say a 13mm nut in there to bolt into ???

from your pic Id be tempted to thread a nut on as far as poss and weld inside of the nut to the snapped bolt before I start drilling/attacking from the rear etc,
the heat from the welding should also help break the rust.

Well , I made a tapered m8 nut and got some good connection with the thread , downside is my mates mig welder is broken . Gutted . So I have In a lame attempt put chemical metal on the thread , inside the new bolt thread so maybe just maybe it will hold but very doubtful . All the others have undone ok so if chemical metal doesn't work drilling it out

Centre punch it and drill it right through its length using a drill bit just smaller than the bolt then put a thread extraction bit into the hole and it should come out, on another note if its snapped the chances are its well seized in

In regards to the forward bolt you don't have to take the filler neck off / if you aproach it from placing your arm direction of ( trailing arm ) you can do it on your back no probs
cheers for the advice guys, ive got all of the 3 other bolts out, just this one, so as its the easier of the 2 on each side, im going to bite th ebullet and drill this one out.
not much choice really as no welder lol and as you say above, probably wont bite onto it anyway
