Hi.

I recieved a stone chip in my windscreen last nigh, which has since developed into a crack about 1.5 cm long. Its in the middle of the windscrren.

Does this need replacing? If so what should I watch out for when the jobs been done (like common foul ups by auto glass etc).

I want to make sure its done properly etc. ta

The crack will most likely get bigger. Windscreens are laminated so you have little immediate concern safety-wise (other than vision). However a crack of that size will fail an MOT, assuming a vigilant tester. You could try having it repaired which saves the screen being removed.

Take it to whichever screen replacement company your insurer recommends - they should do repairs foc.

Get a new one in

Take a good look at the trims that go up the edge of the screen and up onto the roof
