2006 legacy flashing cel

2006 legacy flashing cel
Please help guys, I just bought a 2006 Subaru Legacy and the cel just started flashing. I scanned it and it comes up as a neutral safety switch. Is this common? Please any help would be great.
Isnt that just the neutral position switch on the gearbox? A lot of people on here have changed that. Don't think much drama. Maybe you should check wiring first in case of a broken wire.
