Default U Cradle Chassis Subframe - not needed?

Hello,

I am having the underside of my car re-sealed but before I do I have been recommended that the U Cradle Chassis Subframe and the Radiator mount are replaced because they are starting to show signs of rust. I've asked around my local Subaru specialist and they have advised that the U Cradle Chassis Subframe is not needed and just to have it removed.

Can anyone confirm this? They say it was for US crash regulations and is not needed.

Thank you

the U frame is an extra crash structure added to new-age cars which means they are much stiffer than the classic........technically its not required BUT personally I would refit or use an aftermarket chassis brace as it helps the handling in general

the lower radiator mount is something totally different and this will require sorted

I have no U frame but think without You have no fitting points for undertray.
One of factory bugeye model had no U frame fitted ,not sure s202 or RA spec C
Did not notice any downside regarding handling without one tbh
