Default Can someone confirm my logic before I mod my WRX TGV's please.

Hi all. I'm going to be taking off my inlet on my my04 UK WRX soon with the TGV's, to do the intake hose, insulating spacers, paint inlet etc.

Whilst it's off would there be any problem with me just unscrewing and removing just the flaps off each TGV assembly and leaving the shaft and the rest of the assembly in place before it is reinstalled. My thinking is, that I am planning my remap soon but not quite yet (probably spring now), so they can be turned off during the map with no need of actually fitting TGV-less bodies off the STI inlet. So I wont have to worry about the TGV's failing in future even though they are still there. Also in the meantime if they fail it wont cause any problems.

So will that be ok?
And it wont cause any running issues from cold etc on a standard map, and no CEL's popping up?

I know it's not expensive for TGV-less risers off an STI but it would mean stripping it again just before the map and my power goals aren't massive so doesn't really seem necessary in my mind.

TIA Aaron.

you should have no problems just taking the butteryflys out and leaving the rods/motors/sensors in place. Once it's mapped just remember to get all the codes deleted so if a sensor/motor fails your not stuck looking at the engine light.
