Default Identify the rusty part, and the mysterious lock.

Hi there,
I've got an 05 STI here with a very rusty look piece of steel. This is right below what looks like the aircon rad and I'm wondering if this is part of the front subframe? Or something else, like some kind of radiator support bar.

This is a 40000 mile car which is otherwise very tidy, full Subaru history, PPP pack so I'm looking to repair this properly, whether with my MIG or a replacement part if possible.

Cheers for any help.

Also do you any.Subaru guru's have any idea why there is a lock on each of the foglight covers? They seem to be seized and I presume this is not something Subaru done.

Doesn't say much about Livingston where I got the car ha. Although the previous owner didn't know what they were for and he owned it for 7 years.

That's brilliant cheers, cheap too. Might just order that, or whip the bumper off for a good look first.

Have you been on import car parts? http://www.importcarparts.co.uk/part...y=&searchPart=
I have had the same issue and bought the replacement part from them.
Just looking to get a garage to fit it now.

Saw they had both parts after buying just one, not a bad price for both. I might just need the top part but will find out once I've started.
