Default Engine will turn but won't run.

Hey decide to sign up for these Subaru forums to see if anyone could help diagnose this problem. I have a 2002 Subaru Legacy model L sedan about 3 days ago I drove through a large puddle of water did not suck water into my air intake but the car stalled and has not started ever since the engine will kick in turn over but it will not actually run. A mechanic told me that it could be a fuel relay issue. Has anyone else have an idea what the issue could be.

Hi Welcome to Scoobynet

Do you have access to a code reader to see if its throwing up any error codes that might help diagnose whats going on. Check the basics, is it getting spark, fuel and has compression. Maf might be dead, crank or cam sensor packed in.. im not sure if that model had diagnostic connectors like in the classic imprezas but im guessing not.
