Default Quick question about turbo inlet on newage blob wrx

Hi guys just need a quick bit of info off you.

Have any of you fitted an aftermarket turbo intake hose to a blob wrx with tgv inlet? Does the manifold have to come off/be lifted?

I'm having my map done soon, so if it's not a pig of a job i'll fit one before the map but if it is ill probably leave it be.

I changed a split one on my v6 classic and ended up having to remove the whole inlet and had to replace gaskets etc. (rather not do that again lol.) If its a simple swap on the newage I will probably get one.

Thanks in advance!

I don't know for sure about fitting, but the standard hose is hard to get out without either breaking it (because it is plastic and doesn't bend) or lifting the manifold.

If your aftermarket pipe is soft enough to have all the hose connections man-handled into the directions needed to get it under the manifold runners it might work, however it is pretty tight under there tbh.

I'd lift the manifold personally, as it's not _really_ that much work (it doesnt need to come off fully) and makes things much easier. Be sure to have some new gaskets at hand, though.

I fitted a samco group N intake pipe, i had the inlet manifold off i think it would have been very hard to get it on without the manifold off lining everything up would be impossible as its such a tight fit might be because mine is a group n
