Default Help with fuel gauge issue

Aup lads i could use some help basically my fuel gauge is always on full ive just swapped the pump/sender unit from the tank for one supplied by le scoobys that is know to work fine and still no joy now when i unplug the unit from the muliplug on top og the assembly the gauge will fall down slowly to empty so im just wondering if anybody has experienced this ever i can only think maybe its a short on the wiring or something?

Id appreciate any help and thanks in advance.
