Unequal Vs Equal headers
So to revive an old debate...... what are people views regarding equal vs unequal length headers. Currently running 4-1 toyo sport equal length (on cr as bought) with no mapping and just 3" miltek sports cat back.
Have a set of standard turbo 2000 headers which from what I know are unequal and sounded great with the miltek on the turbo 2000. Am planning to purchase when funds permit esl ecu and mapping. While I prefer the burble of the unequal what are people's opinions.
Ps.
Have fmic also ready to go on when I can fund esl.

I'd ditch the equal length manifold, the standard unequal length manifold is good for nearly 400 bhp.
I have a Japspeed stainless steel manifold on mine, but its not worth doing.

I did like the sound of the unequal even with the sports cat and if it's good to 400 I wouldn't be looking for much above 320 is anyway so ideal.

The unequals may be good for 400.
GOOD equals will always out spool, produce more power and more torque through out the Rev range than un equals.
However a good set of equals is very hard to find.

I've heard this a lot, just can't justify spending big money really. At least the standard unequals I have will do better than these nasty toyo sport equal. ....and sound better

Sound better is very subjective! I prefer the sound of my equals, nothing like you have heard before. It sounds amazing when you Bury that right foot....
Get your unequal portEd and a Harvey trick up pipe on there from asp.

I'll be honest I guess I'm comparing standard unequal to sh*te equals so would be good to hear a good set. Ibe been looking at up pipes and have read elsewhere the Harvey are good.

If you ask anybody to describe an impreza, the first thing they will say is Rumble. Take that away and what do you get...
The rumble is what sets a scooby apart from all the other jap cars.

Watching the video of the Higgins TT car reminds me why I prefer the sound of the unequal manifold on full chat - fantastic!
