Default Blitz Nur Spec R centre pipe to 3" Downpipe?

Hi all,

My car currently has a Kakimoto N1 exhaust fitted, and a 3" downpipe.

The Kakimoto has a warped flange and will not seal correctly.

I think I have two options. Cut the Kakimoto and have another flange welded on.

Or buy a new exhaust, I like the Blitz Nur Spec R, had one on a classic wagon a few years ago.

Quesiton is, the Nur Spec is mostly 3", apart from the front where it meets the downpipe white it narrows to 2.5". My car currently a 3" downpipe. So whats my options?

Cheers

Dont really want to change the downpipe from a 3" to a 2.5".

I might be able to get the face of the flange machined so it becomes flat again. Or cut and weld a new flange on.

I have come across some gaskets called Remflex that are designed to seal warped flanges.

http://catalog.remflex.com/

But there seems to be mixed reviews with the gaskets, seems that high exhaust pressure can blow them out within a few months of being fitted, especially nearer the manifold rather than the rear of the exhaust system.

But for my application, they might just be OK.
