Default Front mount intercooler fitted with no re-map

I have fitted a front mount intercooler but the car isn't booked in for a re-map for another 2 weeks and it's my daily driver so was just wondering if it will cause any damage and if so what damage? The car has been mapped before it has a simtek ecu

You'll probably get some rough running but doubt it'll cause any damage.

You might want to put up a full spec when it was mapped i.e mafless etc so we have a better idea.

When it was mapped it had a td05 16 g turbo, forge actuator with 1 bar spring, walbro fuel pump, 440cc injectors, standers small slanty top mount intercooler, decat, k&n big cone filter and yes it's mafless and it's running 1 bar of boost at 266 bhp and as I said just fitted fmic and have a 3 bar map sensor ready to fit just before map hopefully looking at 330 bhp. So I can drive on boost then you reckon?

I've got no experience of this myself but why not play it safe and try not to push it too much on full boost, just be a bit sensible with it. *Just read its mafless so may be ok until remap??

I'm sure someone will post on here where they have been in the same situation as you.

Will be fine to drive about but you will probably get overboost due to the lower charge temps, just take it easy till its mapped

this ^^^^
colder intake temps means more oxygen mixed with fuel = leaner running. Keep off boost!

Which MY Impreza is it? As you may not actually need to upgrade to one. See here:

Indeed, for a goal of 330bhp from a 16g, I'm pretty certain your std one will suffice.
