help me !!!! removal of speedo needles - how?

how do u remove the needles? im gettin the car derestriced and after that the odometer will tick over in miles as well so i need to redo the clock to milage help as i dont wanna rip the needles off

Yeah all well & good but i still broke 2 rev counters doing all the hair dryer & spoon technique although my speedo survived quite a beating if u can get a spare needle i wood advise u melt the little bugger off with a soldering iron

Firstly gently lift the tip of the needle over the stop pin and allow it to come to rest, it might by worth gently flicking it a couple of time to get the true resting point. Mark the resting point so that you can re-fit the needle in exactly the same place.
Next, heat the top of the needle with a hair dryer until it is hot to the touch, then gently lever it off using 2 table spoons. Do not use force because or you will end up breaking the spindle. And do not try to remove the fuel or temp needles.
