Are there advantages and disadvantages of having a mafless map?

Advantages: no MAF to go wrong, you can use a cone filter with impunity.

Disadvantages: none I know of. Needs mapping?

Only reason I ask is I am mafless but my revs always seem to stay up a few seconds and don't drop straight away? Wasn't sure if that was connected.

I had this when I got my car,and the mapper had mapped in some pops and bangs so the re-injection times were set to open earlier 3200rpm Drove horrible tbh.
I set them back down to 1500rpm and don't get this high rev when changing gear.

So would I need to get it remapped to change it?

If you don't have your own cable and software then yes the mapper will have to do it,it does sound like injector over run/re injection had been changed, but might be something else causing it? Sticky cable, faulty tps ect.
Did you have it mapped for pops and bangs?

Previous owner had the map done, had anti lag and launch control added, not keen on either.

So ALS will be on a switch then,LC might be on a switch(mines on all the time&set to 4k)
Do you know if pops&bangs were mapped in as well?
I can only suggest taking it back to the mapper for a tweak,do you know who the mapper was? (Going to cost you around £150 for a tweak tho)
What version car is it and what is the ECU running? Ecutek,ESL,alcatek, opensource ect?
Can you do some data logging?
Maybe one of the guys from the forum who live close to you could have a look at your map if they have a cable and the ECU isn't locked by the mapper.

When it's out of gear and you Rev the car does it seem ok?
Is it just over revving on gear changes then?
