Good day/evening car gurus. I'm at a complete loss. I had the privilage of being given a 2006 Subaru Impreza. Checking the papers, I have a JF1 Chassis and an EJ204 engine. I have checked almost everywhere and I can't exactly determine the model of my scooby. Please help me out. Here are the things that I want to know:
1. Is the EJ204 engine the same with an "EJ20?"
2. I have 225/40/r17 tires, 17" Subaru mags, are these stock?
3. For suspension tuning, should I pick parts compatible for 2006 Impreza RS or 2006 Impreza 2.0i?
4. Recommended spark plugs? Iridium? Platinum? NGK? Bosch?
5. There is a clicking noise when the engine idle goes up but immediately goes away after the aux fan stops. Bad/loos belt?

Isn't the hawkeye a 2.5 litre engine if I remember correctly and not a 2.0??

 

Alloys are stock spark plugs should be ngk pfr6b if running standard for a 2.0 but unless I'm mistaken it's a 2.5 under bonnet pics chassis plate pics, and interior pics would be good too

 

that's why I'm lost. looking at the plate, The engine number is specified as an ej204. thanks for the input. mods are illegal where i'm at. lolz. as close to stock as possible. i just want to put stiff shocks on stock springs, lowering is not an option (speed bumps are way too high). i'd also like to keep the engine and transmission as smooth as possible. i'm going crazy with figuring out what rear shocks will fit. haha!

 

It's a 2.5 engine in your car. 100%.

 

guess i have to get my hands dirty by finding the stamp on the engine. thanks for the inputs. i'll update once i find out.

 

could it be a 2.0 R/RX which would have a EJ20something?

 

If it's a R rather than an RX as the OP says then possibly.
