Hi Guys

I've got a pair of AVCS heads which have the usual cracks across the spark plug webs

Are people using the heads like this?

Is there a robust/cost effective fix available?

Depends how far up the spark plug threads the cracks go, my rule of thumb is if you can see 4 threads cracked, it usually, when crack tested go 2 or 3 more they would be ok for a std replacement, but not used for a fresh big power build, if they are cracked valve seat to valve seat, there scrap.


To repair would involve removing all valve seats, weld, re machine valve seat locations & re drill & rethread spark plug location & new valve seats, very expensive & time consuming.


I am actually weighing in 8 pairs of 2.0 avcs heads tomorrow for the above reasons, xmas scrap bonus.
