hello when i bought my 98 scooby it already had a big k&n induction kit and removed air box but pipes left in the wing what to no what the air box intake scoop is doing now the box is gone as want to remove it any help can i remove it ? as cant see what its doing now and would look better gone

 

Is it putting air onto k&n filter

 

Not sure I no the bumper pipe goes to the filter through the Res box but this scoop just goes back into the wing I see loads of engine bays with out it
