Question

i am thinking of putting a K&N filter onto my sport(97) and wondered if anybody could let me know if it made any real difference to the performance, or just makes a nice sound.
cheers for any help given.

I put a K&N filter on our B4. It makes a nice Whoosh sound over 5,000rpm and there was a slight improvement in lower revs but nothing remarkable.

Had one on my Sport a few years ago.
More induction (air) noise
Slightly better throttle response IMHO
It did make a difference over the std

Watch all the threads about air mass sensor damage though to do with oil soaked filters. I never had a problem but it does happen
