Default knock/rattle at the rear

go a really annoying knocking/rattle coming from the rear of my blob sti. sounds like its the passenger side but it could be traveling. does it at low speeds and higher speeds, over any type of un even surface.

recently had new suspension set up by scoobyclinic (pedders)
also have cdf racing pollybush droplinks fitted.

I went back to scoobyclinic with the noise to makesure it wasn't the new shocks or top mounts and they said they were fine. they had a good look and couldn't find any issue but the noise is doing my head in. I asked them to change the rear ARB bushes but they asked why and said theres nothing wrong with the ones that are on there. so im stuck to where its coming from. could the solid pollybush droplinks be causing it?

any help appreciated

I found on my blob sti that the rubber stops make a rubbing/rattling noise against the frame. The shut lines and hinges etc are fine but there seems to be a tolerance between the two that allows some movement.

I've taken the stops out and the noise went entirely. I'm not sure if it's a wise idea to remove them completely though so I've put them back in for the time being. It's something I'd like to address though, so would be useful to know if yours/others experience the same.

I know they said that the roll bar bushes were ok, but I would change them anyway, OEM rubber ones are just a few quid

Looking on with interest I have this issue with my hawk, thought boot lid, didn't think to take the rubbers out though, drop links were another possibility, however all the underneath is fairly new Perrin

I am also watching with interest .... I too had a set of pedders fitted just under a month ago and since then the car has developed a rattling noise that sounds akin to failed or failing bushes (like something is moving about in the boot). I have removed everything from the boot and the noise is still prevalent. I am thinking the uprated suspension has identified some weakness in the bushes (but not sure which).

I went back with mine as I mentioned, but they insisted nothing was wrong with the suspension, or ARB bushes but the noise suggests otherwise.. im wondering if its the solid droplinks ive fitted stiffening everything up which is causing slight movement in the arb/bushes. the bushes are pretty solid though I must admit.

the noise im getting sounds quite high up which I thought was the new top mount on the passenger side but again, scoobyclinic checked them and reported no issues.

Did you try removing the rubber stops on the boot lid?

Get somewhere else to check for a second opinion?
