Turbo help
I've currently got a 55plate blobeye wrx & I know my currently turbo is only capable of achieving 290-300bhp at a push.
So my question is I'm wanting to upgrade it to one that is capable of producing over 300 but nothing too big as I know my gearbox can only handle so much torque before destruction & I'm not wanting to go past this mark. So which turbo is the best to go for?
Cheers

I first wasted my money on an old vf35 that was smoking on idle.
I'm sure you can get a decent vf35 but it is luck of the draw.
My rebuilt turbo td04 cost 550 but you get a years warranty and the best of spool and power in a small turbo.also it really is like having a new turbo that should really last the life of the car.
Luckily I got my money back for vf35 but paid for it to be mapped first so lost that money.

So what is a safe when taking that I do not want to start upgrading the gearbox, 330-340?
Also would a TD05 from an STI take me to the safe limit?
Last question what supporting mods will I need to get me there?

LolIve read anything over 350 then your on borrowed time, a td05 will get what your after but I think the td05 might need converted to front entry to fit 55 wrx. Supporting mods I think are full exhaust, k&n pannel filter, 550 sti injectors, walbro fuel pump, I also have a sti tmic and 3 port boost solenoid but not sure if necessary. Then obviously the turbo. Ive also purchased a sti decat uppipe to go on with the new turbo.

My previous uk300 was running 336bhp for over 4years without any gearbox/engine issues. Vf28,pinks,sti tmic, walbro pump, panel filter, sti inlet and racedynamix map. Would pull away from my mates 350ish blob sti.
