td05 turbo upgrade for a classic
Hi guys, hoping for some advice, I am sure this has been covered a million times before so maybe someone could point me in the right direction, but what modifications do I need to do to a td05 turbo to replace by td04 on a MY2000, turbo 2000? And also where would I get these modifications done?
Cheers for any help.
Matt

It needs to converted to a front entry housing, from the standard 90 degree entry. This should answer all your questions:

Well that's where cash comes in to it. The VF is going to be a good bit more money than a TD05. I've never been in a car with the VF but I do know the TD05 is a very good turbo and very popular, not to mention cheap to buy and repair.
With everything you've said you could easily achieve over 300bhp.

I'm looking to get around 300 in mine when it gets mapped, I've modified the intercooler, for a bigger core one, Cosworth air filter, decat centre section, and walbro 255 fuel pump. Also got rid of the VTA dump valve and replaced with OEM recirc valve. Do you think that will be enough along with the TD05 to get around 300. I'm not looking for silly power, just useable and reliable.

TD05 will do over 300 all day long, so long as supporting mods are in place.
Mines still on 380cc injectors though, not recommended.
